The Small Cities as Intermediaries

ï The City of Waidhofen an der Ybbs has decided to link all its schools with a 100 MB ring
and create a 2 MB line to the Vienna educational network. The Project is submitted to the
global Bangemann challenge and is supported by Viennese Institutions.

Small cities are now able to gain back their previous position in the hierarchy of
settlement types, because the offer superior abilities to represent and apply global knowledge.
