Carl Strack joined the European Commission in 1977 and has had a varied career in informatics. Before taking up his current post as coordinator for the Urban and Rural Areas sector of the Telematics Applications Programme, he was responsible for the computing facilities of the service dealing with Customs and Indirect Taxation.
